G36 Extended Slide Release
Is the G36 slide release interchangeable with other models? If not, is there an extended slide release for the G36? Where can you buy it? Anyone ever try it?

Not positive on this, but I believe it is different. I ordered mine from glock,
and it was packaged as g36 release, not generic. Also, the profile seemed slightly different from others I have seen on standard glocks. One word of caution, mine was NOT 100% with the extended version due to my high thumb grip. My fault, not gun's, but something to keep in mind. Thumbs would inadvertently lock slide to rear during firing. Not a lot, but enough that it is
now back to stock..

I haven't yet, because my 36 hasn't come in yet, but I believe you can find them at Glockmeister. They specialize in Glock. Always had good history with them. I wanted to wait until the 36 comes in prior to buying one, to make sure I didn't have the same problems as the second poster. Don't know how that slimmer grip will effect my fingers near the release.

Good advice. I guess I'll just have to try it out and see for myself. The slide release is the only thing I would ever change on a Glock - I just like a little bit more leverage. Otherwise, I am stock all the way.

I got mine from Glockmeister. Works like a charm! I also ordered their SS guide rod assembly.
Very happy with both.

G36 has a unique Slide Stop Lever, part SP 01802.
Unless Glock has recently come out with a Slide Stop Lever & Spring, Extended, for the G36, there is not one.
As of April 2009 (the last parts list I have from Glock) there was none listed.

I got mine from Glockmeister along with stainless guide rod, 3.5 connector and NY1 trigger spring.

I also went with Glockmeister.. I called and left messages with Glock twice to check if they made one, but never got a call back, so I went this route. Works like a charm, I recommend it. I waited until I got my G36 to see if stock would work but I rather have extended.
