My earliest G-17 is a 2nd Gen KV***US series, but can we start a lowest numbered G-19 next as I have a 2nd Gen G-19, BX***US that has to be an earlier import.

Trying to date my buddies G17 for him, AU 6XX US is what he sent me. I know he got it used as a B-Day gift while we were in high school, 87'-89'. STH is the three letter code.
Thanks

Yup, the STH date code shows it was made in May of 86, and it was apparently imported to the US in July. The prefix 'AU' was the ninth shipment of 1000 G17's imported.

I have AL65xUS. Shoots good, feels better in the hand than a Gen 3 (to me, anyway), and has a big "cool factor" when I use it at a match. Had the upgrade done at a GSSF shoot, but kept all the old parts in case I want to return it to original.

!
I just bought a Gen 1 gun at a GSSF match a couple of weeks ago. The serial number is AH 6XXUS. The barrel code is BTM.

I bought my G17 Mar of 1987. AZ7XXUS with a barrel date code of CTH. At the time I paid $390.00. I wish I could get a new one for that price now. I've only put a couple thousand rounds through it but as many have stated it's been the most reliable handgun I ever purchased.
