US-based BoGs... requesting assistance :)
I'm stuck here in the Illinois-Wisconsin area until September.
Unfortunaely I have little control over my day to day sched.
Here's the deal: I was hoping to obtain a full set of springs for
my Bersa Thunder 380, but I haven't the foggiest how to go
about it in this somewhat gun-unfriendly state.
Bersa has a US rep at http://www.bersafirearmsusa.com/
but that's about it. Can someone walk me through the
proces of ordering and taking possession of the set of springs?
Otherwise I might order some militec-1 and Slip2000 instead,
for use as prizes for the next online BoG thingy... and just so
I can say I purchased something gun-related while here, LOL...
Thanks

Purchasing the parts you want is no problem whilst in the US. Your possession of gun parts as you go through Philippine customs may be a concern.

Just follow the instruction in their website.
Could not find any other source of parts. Even Wolff Spring does not have Bersa in their list.

The online ordering facility on their website?
It's all fine until I'm asked to provide a credit card billing address
(quite apart from a delivery address). The software only accepts addresses
within the US.
Guess I'm screwed then, since Bersa distributor in the Philippines PB Dionisio
hasn't restocked on spare Bersa springage in the 4 years I've been asking
them (on and off) to.
Thanks anyway.

You could try calling their phone line if they have one and try explaining your situation. I'm sure the phone representatives would be of great help.
Or if you're staying in a hotel of some sorts then the front office could surely help you out. They order the parts then you pay them in cash.
Or try going through the Illinois dealers list and ask them for assistance. They maybe close enough to your area that you could run there between activities.

Try to order by phone. I have ordered (by phone) from Brownels, Midway, Dillon, Wilson, and Barsto when we come to US for vacation and I was never asked where my credit card was issued. Midway use to have free shipping back then.

Some prepaid credit cards work for online purchases, where a "billing address" is required. I've used Amex prepaid cards for some online retailers with no problems. Just make sure amount on prepaid card exceeds amount being charged.

I can order for you and have the parts shipped to my address then come over to pick them up. I am in the West Coast. When or if you decide, let us correspond by PM.

Eto atin atin lang ah pero hindi naman nila ni-check ang billing address if it is valid (actual credit card billing address). Ang alam ko Amex lang ang kaya mag-validate online.

Thanks to everyone!
Thank you Jerry, but I'm strictly Central on this trip.
Tank you Vic, but I don't know of a way to reimburse you, lol
So, I think I'll indeed try to plead my case (again) by phone.
If it all doesn't work out, no biggie...
I'll focus on switching to a .357 snub for my backup when I
get home...

Hi Andrew,
I've never had problem ordering thru amazon etc. while here.
Their secure payment software permits a foreign billing address.
Ang problema kasi sa website ng BERSA distributor, walang option for anything
but a US billing addy. Yung "country" pulldown tab sa online form only contains
"United States".Of course you only find that out AFTER you've typed in and sent
some of your credit card particulars...grrrrrr.

Hi Sir horge!
I am talking with VICARA right now and he will buy the parts tonight. Send your address to him so we can send it to you straight. We will split the cost and you owe us a round of beer.

Illinois is extremely gun-unfriendly, and I'm sure
my arrival in Manila would be met with a similar enthusiasm,
if I had a C-mag on me, hahaha
