Ditto on the Speer Gold Dot 135gr .357 short barrel ammo. It has a wide hollow point, flash suppressants and a fast powder. If that 2.25 barrel is attached to a Ruger sp101, you will like it a lot. Mike

Buffalo Bore. Check the velocities in the details of the .357 "Tactical" low flash .357 ammo. The velocities are legit, and the 125 gr, and 158 gr use Gold Dot Bullets.

I stick with Rem Gold Sabres in my SP101. Nice medium magnum as they say, and just fine out of a short barrel as I recall.

I also shoot a SP101. I read some stuff about the short barrel ammo and decided to try it out. Needless to say, it is my new carry ammo. There was a drastic reduction in recoil as compared to my 125 gr ammo and there was no muzzle flash that I noticed. My full power 125 gr stuff spits a ball of fire. The short barrel is accurate as well. Get some and try it out and you will like it.

I've had nothing but good results with their product, and service.

There is nothing wrong with the Gold Dot 135 grain short barrel for what it is, but its not a full power magnum. If you are looking for full power, look elsewhere.
The full power 125 grain Gold Dot does 1242 fps out of my 2 1/4" SP101, the Federal Classic 125 grain JHP does 1293 fps. I like the 158 grain loads myself, which tend to run around 1100 fps from the SP.
