Shame that the OP left without providing a link to the news story about the "shootout".
At least he could provide the name of the cleaning service that got the blood stains out of his flooring. Some others on GT need their phone # on speed dial .

Good point on the flooring. Where I used to work there was a woman who had a break-in at her house. The guy bled to death after cutting himself on the window he crashed through. She had wood floors.
She had to have the floors ripped out and replaced because of the blood.

Nope. Middle of the house, facing the street. In fact my other sister has a house with a nearly identical floor plan. Also in Colorado. the end of the hallway is where the linen closet is.
Weird, ugly, and no privacy (imo), but they made a lot of them like that back then, apparently.
I am seriously loving some of these responses......you are funny guys!

I don't think TicTock is coming back...but maybe I'll have a few drinks then come back and tell you guys about the time that I single handedly took out 143 Taliban/AQ fighters with nothing but a spork and a bottle of tobasco sauce when they assaulted the porta-****ter I was in...

Where was this "family" while he was blasting everything?
No yelling, screaming, no shouts of "stay in your room" or "call 911"......

Not addressing the OP credibility without additional facts to back it up, I wanted to comment on the alarm system usage.
You know in those Brinks or ADT commercials, the alarm always goes off IMMEDIATELY after a door gets kicked in. That means the entry delay is 0 (alarm with no delay). I'm not sure how much that is used in practice though.
That's actually not a bad tactic to use with an alarm system. Why give the bad guys time to get in and work inside your house while it "counts down" before alarming.
Setting your alarm system zones to "no delay" is a good strategy. Of course, that means using a keyfob to disarm (when away), but still.
I use no delay in all zones, I'm not giving the bad guys a single second.

My perimeter alarm when i am in the house is zero delay. The entry when i set it and leave has a low beep to give you time to shut it off.
p.s. only read the first two posts and then skipped to the end to see if we knew if it was real.
