This whole thread reads like "good cop/bad cop"....now all we need is a hot lamp and a wooden chair.

Where was this "family" while he was blasting everything?

No yelling, screaming, no shouts of "stay in your room" or "call 911"......

Not addressing the OP credibility without additional facts to back it up, I wanted to comment on the alarm system usage.

You know in those Brinks or ADT commercials, the alarm always goes off IMMEDIATELY after a door gets kicked in. That means the entry delay is 0 (alarm with no delay). I'm not sure how much that is used in practice though.

That's actually not a bad tactic to use with an alarm system. Why give the bad guys time to get in and work inside your house while it "counts down" before alarming.

Setting your alarm system zones to "no delay" is a good strategy. Of course, that means using a keyfob to disarm (when away), but still.

I use no delay in all zones, I'm not giving the bad guys a single second.

My perimeter alarm when i am in the house is zero delay. The entry when i set it and leave has a low beep to give you time to shut it off.
p.s. only read the first two posts and then skipped to the end to see if we knew if it was real.

For a guy who is so into his security with multiple guns hidden strategically throughout his house, you'd think he could afford to buy a better lock for his front door.

I thought I had a pretty good deadbolt setup. Only took a BG about 1 sec to break out the door jamb pretty much floor to ceiling.
I guess lock bumping is all the rage these days.

This thread has been dying a long, slow, and painful death. Somebody needs to put it out of its misery...

I just installed one of these on both of my doors:
http://www.doorsecuritypro.com/index.html

I used 4 inch wood screws to go deep into the frame. 5 feet of steel. Much better than my old crappy small strike plate with tiny screws.

Of course, now I have to look at my lock to see how "bump proof" is is. Any recommendations?

No way, the OP promised more.

Now it might be 3 or 4 more months before he comes back...

I would be hesitant to read 11 pages, or whatever we're at now, but try it! I know you were eager to get that first post in. Haha. Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Geez!!! And I thought I had vivid dreams when I was a kid. I think they prescribe medication for this kind of thing.
