Could this be worth much?

I inherited this Waltham from my grandfather. It's the only thing I got from him, and from what I understand he had some museum quality art back in the day. I doubt this is , but I am just a little curious if it might be worth something. I don't have any information on the watch but it is a little odd as the 12 O'clock position is where 3 O'clock would normally be. It also has the metal cover over the glass.

It keeps good time, but I have noticed the hour hand needs to be adjusted as it doesn't line up perfectly when the minute hand is on the 12. Not a big deal to me. I don't wear it all the time, but do like to bring it out ocasionally as I am really a fan of the wind up watches.

Thanks in advance.

While I don't have any proof, I'm going to say it is worth a bit. My suggestion, is to check with the guys over at Watch U Seek forum. I have a Ball pocket watch my grandfather left me, and they were quite helpful. It's kinda like the GT of watches, but the owner isn't gun friendly.

Try what Grunt says and ask at watchuseek.

I have no idea how much it is worth, but it is really cool. Congrats.

You could also try Watchtalkforums. The owner allows guns pics on his site.

Thanks. I would rather wear it than find out a value I guess. I did some poking around today and found a site that mentioned a few other watches from what seems to be this time period, like Elgin. The cover is evidently a shrapnel guard. I do know that no matter the value, I would rather keep it and pass it down. It keeps pretty good time too.

I appreciate the replies and will see about joining the other forums to help get an idea what it's worth. It won't stop me from wearing it though.

I would say that since you got it from your grandfather and that is the only thing then it is priceless. If you want a monetary value check www.watchuseek.com. It's a great site for watches.

It looks like a pocket watch converted to a wrist watch...

I would keep that watch... That is something that cannot be replaced. Something to give to your kids.
