i have a valid south carolina ccw permit. i travel to/through north carolina several times a year. my question is with my permit is it legal for me to have my weapon on my person while in the vehicle. also what are the other vehicle requirements in north carolina? thanks
Carry on your person while in a vehicle is fine. You must notify LE you are concealed carry permit holder and have one on you if approached. Verbally notify and wait for instructions. Don't try to show either permit or gun till asked. If you don't have a gun on you when approached you don't need to notify. ( I know, some people still ask that last question though)
It is a concealed weapon permit for SC but honored by some other states. NC is one that honors it so yes you can carry it concealed. That is the purpose... I work live in SC, but work in NC. I think you can find the Reciprocity list at the site below: or you can go to the SLED website.
