got sig? New P225!
Picked up my NIB P225 yesterday. Found one on gunbroker.com. NIB but old inventory from the dealer. Says he got it from distributor in 96 and I believe it was mfg in W. Germany in 95. I've always wanted a 225 but never got one. Almost bought one back in around 91 but chose the P228 instead (mistake). The only downer on my new P225 is the night sights are pretty dim. Think SIG will warranty them? LOL.
I'm looking for some holsters for my new SIG so if anybody has one they want to part with please let me know.

Congrats on the P225.
However, since the Berlin Wall fell November 9, 1989, and the German unification was formally concluded on October 3, 1990; your P225 is most likely German.
As for Sig honoring the dim sights, you'll most likely have to give them a call for a definitive answer.

With respect Cobra64, I am familiar with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the unification of Germany. However, this P225 is stamped on the slide "W. Germany" so right or wrong, it is a considered to be a "West German P225".

I have a german 225 dated 1999. It is an exceptional firearm. It actually makes many 9mm's that have twice the capacity seem average.
For holsters...I have a don hume leather that wasnt too expensive. I think it is the model 710...

Thanks! bac1023 I have LOOONG way to go to catch up to you in the sweet 9mm pistol category...not to mention the 1911's. And at my age it probably is not gonna happen. I do have 3 classic nines now; A P7M8, the P225, and a G19. Here's a pic of the P225.

I just ordered a P225 from topgunsupply.com.
I also bought a P220 from a member here on GT as well.
It's been a while since I've owned Sigs. I kick myself in the arse every time I think about when I sold the ones I had.
I really like the looks of the Sigs.

I have both a P225 and a P228 and love them both; I bought them 7-8 yrs ago and never had a malfunction or failure yet.

If you are looking for an IWB holster for your P225, I'd suggesting placeing an order with Kramer for a #3 horsehide. I've got one for my P6 and it is awesome.

I got a P225 made in 1980 from a dealer in AZ, it was used but completely refinished. I love that gun, its my EDC, It to is marked W. Germany. Try the holsters for the P229, they work the best.

It says it right on the sight. The rear sight will have it on the front, and the front sight will have it on the side.
