What have I done?

I'm not unhappy or anything... I don't think. Am I? I sold:
-a Marlin 1894P Guide Gun in .44 Mag
-a Kimber Custom CDP II in .45 ACP
-a Kimber Pro Carry HD II that I'd let EGW bobtail
-a Glock 38
-a Thompson Center .300 Win Mag stainless barrel

I also added a few bucks, and I got:
-an Ed Brown Kobra Carry w/Gen III ambi
-a Dan Wesson CBOB that has been worked on by Chuck Rogers.

Soo.... I'm not unhappy.... I'm just glancing back. Don't have the DW yet, but the EB shoots absolutely lights-out! Hey, I made a move to quality over quantity, right?

Yes. That's like trading 5 F-bodies for two Ferraris

I dunno. I probably woulda kept the guide gun just cause I want one real bad so I'm projecting. Everything else is expendable.

That said, I think you did pretty good. I constantly lust after Dan Wesson guns.

I'm considering buying this (even though I haven't even picked up my Kimber yet...two more days), what do you think?

Soudns like a good deal. The only one I'd be remotely sad about trading is the Marlin.

That's too much though. $700-$750 would be more like it.

Thank you bac. I was thinking of offering $800, but even then I thought that might be on the high side when you can get a new one for a few hundred more than that.

Plus it has an idiot mark on it!

Nice pistol. Is that a gold dot front sight? What are the rear sights?

GREAT job. Those are two incredible guns you picked up. I know that most people are against trading or selling guns to get new ones; however, there have been a handful of mine that I just didn't care for anymore and was glad to sell them to make way for a couple of new ones that I really wanted.

It was through trading/selling several unremarkable guns that I ended up with a couple of Baers, a Nighthawk, and a Yost.

However, it is probably time to save up and get another guide gun b/c those are on my short list of guns I need to get soon.

I picked up a NIB 1894P about 2 months ago, best $600 investment I've made in Marlin other then maybe my 1894M (22 WMR), the 1894C is a just a plinker. The 94P shoots like a dream, just hate the porting, can't shoot lead or it very quickly builds up.

Shooting the jacketed ammo is more expensive, but they sure are accurate. The barrel jump is none to speak of, there is a bit of a kick with the carbine. it is a sudden jolt and not bad, unless you fire with it not firm to the shoulder. But I don't find it having me to hunt the target again like a friends 45-70 does, man those 450 rounds just shoves you back and the barrel up and takes forever find the target again. But one of those is my next Marlin, just to say I have one. Bragging rights I guess. Wished I had bought the guide model the local shop had this spring, $500 out the door and this idiot passed because of the price of ammo.

Good move. I've always been into "trading up" my guns. If I see a gun that I know would be an upgrade to something I already own, I have no problem letting go of the gun that will be replaced. I'd rather have a few exceptional guns than a big stack of average guns.
