40 carry ammo?

So what is your favorite SD load?

Do you like to stay with a heavy 180 or go light and fast?

It seems to me that most loads in this caliber are pretty effective. I just use what shoots close to POA as long as it is a quality hollowpoint.

I prefer the 180gr. Federal HSTs. But thats mostly because I grew up shooting 230gr. .45ACP. I just feel more comfortable with the heavier round.

I prefer the Hornady 155 grain XTP in my Glock 22 as a carry load. But I have never found a bad load either. Lots to choose from in the 40. If I want more penetration than the 155 XTP offers i would load it with the Speer 180 grain TMJ or the Double Tap 200 grain FMJ.

I carry Winchester Silvertips, cause that is what I have right now.
Having trouble finding any other rounds, so I'll just keep on.

i would say you want the heaviest, slowest load you can get....so for a .40 it would be the 180grain in brand of your pref.....

I like the 180's, mainly because the 155's have beaten the hell out of my pistols, and the 180's tend to not.

For defense, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the major maker's 155, 165, or 180 grain hollow point loads when it comes to terminal performance.
