Thanks G 33. May lose the sideplate badge in the make over.

Chup , action job, open rear sight channel, dove tailed front sight with gold bead, radius trigger, bead blast gun and a couple of other minor tweaks.

Nice work, though I liked it better before.

Love those bodyguards!

Looks great! May I ask where you got those grips? I'm looking to change out the black rubber grips on my 638 for some decent looking wood grips.

T8S those grips came from Craig Spegel. They are Walnut+ and have the S&W medallion on the one side only as the Speed Loader cut on the other would not allow one to be inlet there.
He is the originator of the Boot Grip Style that many others use.

His grips are great in appearance, fit & function.

I agree the Spegels are excellent grips.
I have a 3" RB model 36 and this Model 49 I picked up today, considering having some of the same work (the sights) done on them.

I like the "after" version all the way around. That front sight looks very functional. Nice looking too. Any chance you can post a rear view so we can see how they opened the rear sight channel? Inquiring minds want to know.

btw - a gun (pretty much exactly) like yours is very high on my wish list.

WOW!!

It's December and we still don't have pictures from the rear,I also would be interested in seeing this.

The before view looked good as it was. The after view is even more to my liking. I envy you for having the patience to have C&S do your work.

How does it shoot? Does it shoot to point of aim?

Not the best image but maybe you can see how C&S opened the channel up.

Very nice, that is something to be proud of. I would keep that forever and pass it to a family member some day.

I like the sight modifications. Can you see the entire bead with the front sight centered in the notch or do you have to have the front sight high to see the bead?
