Good bye G27, hello 1911
I have playing w/the idea of moving up to a .45 acp for some time. So I was shopping for the the G30SF. Needless to say , GT has just about talked me out of it w/all the 30SF bashing, second only to G36 bashing I see. I also have always wanted a 1911 but you know they are not cheap.
So I was going to the local shops and the G30SF was pricing right at $575-650. I was going to trade my G27 in to hep w/the $$ out of pocket.
Well I am in a small mom and pop store that I really like. He informs me that they dropped stocking Glock Jan1 ..wow ok umm wow. He didnt give a reason.
So he hands me a 1911 and gives a big smile. I grabed it for the first time and was just the look, the heft, feel, I was just blown away. Long story short, here it is.
Everyone I have shown it too is blown away by it. Now I know why the .45ACP is called a "flying f** ashtray". I shot it last night and it was just amazing.
The dealer threw in a 47D Wilson Combat mag to sweeten the deal.

Congrats! Can't blame you for not considering the 30sf. The G30 is good to go though.

I'll be looking to trade my G22 up for a Springer in the near future. Hope they throw in a couple 47D's for me.

thanks Bac,okie, and everyone else. I am really proud of it. I know its nothing fancy as far as 1911's go but it was love at first sight. I didnt even notice i was walking around the gun shop for 20 mins w/it in my hand. I never put it down from the minute he handed it to me w/this big grin on his face like a crack dealer giving me my first piece of crack.
I have 200 rds thru it so far in two days and have been ccing it since I left the gun store. Its nicely on my hip now at the apple store in the mall hehe, packed w/ 8+1 of COR-BON 230 Gr JHP.
I love the wood grip w/the big US on it. God it has curb appeal the Glock could only dream of. Everyone I have shown it to was like OMG. I slowly open the green SA box and peel back the cloth covering the gun and volia I hear a big GASP. The Glock never raised an eyebrow.
I am hooked and in LOVE.. I hope to one day have a collection 1/3 the size of Bacs

If you go for quality, it is an expensive hobby.
If you're serious pursuing it, it's best to remain single with no children... not necessarily in that order.
