Hey guys I just bought a Kimber Ultra Classic II. I've never owned a 45 before and was wondering what target ammo do most of you use? Is there a speficic grain I should look for. I had a G26 and that thing would eat anything I threw at it but just want to be a little more cautious with the new Kimber. Any suggestions or what to stay away from? Thanks
I use Wolf poly 45acp in 230g harball by the pound in my 1911s, both factory S&W and SA and my own homebuilt 1911s. ....many many 1000s of rounds with no issues. I did come across one deformed bullet but that round did not get laoded up. I'm still shooting stuff from a few years back when it was $65/500.
I like CCI and Blazer. They burn pretty clean, Remington UMC isn't to bad either, then Winchester White Box. Fiocchi's are ok but make sure you get the ones marked Fiocchi USA. The ones marked made in Italy are very dirty. I also read on one of the forums about guy's having duds, squib loads and improperly seated primers on the Italian made one's.
