Shooting classes in Texas

Hello, newbie here!

Does anyone have any experience with shooting classes in Texas?

I have found a couple of places online. North Texas Shooting Academy near Dallas http://www.learn2shoot.net/ and 360 Tactical Training near Houston http://www.360tacticaltraining.com/

Have you taken classes from either one? Can you recommend them? Any other place I missed?

Thank you very much.

You also have Steve Mosses (http://bluffdalefirearmsacademy.com/default.aspx) and Hany Mahmoud (http://www.northtexastactical.com/About.html) that teach out of texas Tactical.

They are some of the best trainers in the world and are far under priced..

Yes. I have taken classes from Scott at North Texas Shooting Academy.

I would highly recommend it. Scott is a Master level IDPA and Grand Master IPSC.

He has his own private range (about an hour well North/NE of the Dallas area) and does not rush through the class. It is a bit of a distance for you coming from Austin though.

Another highly regarded instructor out of Houston is Gordon Carrell..owns the Gordon Carrell Academy...I have not taken classes from him, but hear good things.

PhoneCop, Thanks! I have taken a class from KRTraining before. I like them. Unfortunately, they offer either very basic or very advanced classes. I'm kind of looking for something in-between. The Pistol 1 class at North Texas Shooting Academy, from the description on the web site, sounds like what I need. I don't mind the drive. I like to travel around Texas. I got it down to the science. :-)

Do you have any more info on these guys? Have you, or anyone you know, received any training from them? I took my CHL class from Josh several years ago and wondered if the classes were worthwhile. Thanks for any input.

I have only taken 2 CHL renewals with them. The last was in their new place. You can see testimonials on their website or look at what people have posted on Facebook. Seems like they are training a lot of people and I haven't seen any complaints. You probably would need to go by there and see what you think for yourself.
