What trigger do I have in my Glock?

If you want to find out what trigger set up is in your Glock, there are two ways to do it.

If you bought it new, you have the box it came in, and the label is still on the box, you can check the label to see what trigger the gun was shipped with. Most Glock labels will say something like '5lb trigger' or '5.5lb trigger' as that's what they ship with unless they are the longslide 'competition' guns which normally have a 3.5 (or 4.5) trigger, or if the gun is special ordered with a different trigger set up.

The other way is to compare yours to the pictures below to see what's in your Glock.

Older Glocks might have a NY spring in them that is black or white in color too.

That does not explain the Zev and Wolf 6# coil trigger springs. They look just like a 5# Glock coil spring.

The GW and Wollf trigger springs are easy to distinguish from the Glock OEM coil trigger spring. I use all of the above.

How do you tell the difference between a 6# and a 5# coil spring by looking at it?

arent there differnent markings, i tried to google image this but couldnt figure out how to post pics i was wondering if someone could clarify that. i personally kept mine facotyr, i feel like thats the way they say it will best work!

anyone have any problems when installing a differnent trigger assembly?

All coil and (-) connectors. My G35 came with the (-) connector 3 years ago and I installed a (-) connector in both of my G19's last year and in my G21 way back in the early 1990's with the XL serial number that matches my GSSF membership number.

My 2nd Gen 17 has the coil spring but my 2nd gen 19 does not. When did Glock get away from the coil spring and should it be changed out?

Glock didn't quit using the coil spring, it is standard unless a NY spring is required by the buyer.

The G19 has a NY spring in it then?

It's probably the old style black NY spring as shown in the bottom pic in post #1 above.

Here's another pic of one with a screwdriver separating the metal leaf spring from the Polymer.

can i cange out the NY1 with a stock spring? the pull on the 17 is much better than the 19 with the NY.

No, they aren't likely to send you one, internal parts are normally only sold to certified armorers.

They aren't hard to find though, call your local gun shops, one that's a stocking Glock dealer would be the best bet.....a police supply store that sells Glocks would be best.

A 'Glock Days' event at a dealer, or a GSSF match are the best place to find factory armorers that will do it for you free, and while you wait. http://gssfonline.com/match-info.cfm

well this should be fun then...the gun shop we have won't do anything but put scope ring and bases on. They want to send everything off. The police supply stores here don't like to sell to anyone except LEO's. The only match in Texas is a 6.5hr drive.

My mind reportedly has room for lots of new information. I beg to differ. I am a newbie shooter and Glock owner. Retired from the medical side of the Navy and even spent time with the marines. My M16 and 1911 were required field gear way back when but most of the time was spent making Marines well, not shooting. Now retired I learn more and more every day about my Glock. Great thread here for newbies with time.

Easy, the factory spring has a more shiney metal surface like galvanize and the aftermarket heavy trigger spring has a more dark brown metal surface.
