Single Stack Glock 10mm like the G36

Don't know if this topic has been done before, but how would a 10mm single stack glock model do? Something like a G36 or even a full size but single stack.

A small single stack 10mm glock would be awesome! Too bad it will probably never happen. But 'ya never know!

Wanting a small single stack 10mm, I just converted my Kimber Ultra Carry to 10mm. It's not up to par yet, but i'm hoping to get it running right, so I can feel right carrying it.

Another reason i wish the 10mm becomes more popular. The ammunition would be cheaper for factory rounds, and more manufacturers would make more models for 10mm.

I've wished for this myself. Maybe with 10mm selling better for Glock with the release of the SF models in the G20 & G29 they'll consider it. Who knows, but if they made a single stack 10mm, I'd buy one. :Are you guys in Smyrna listening?:

After Glock introduced the 36 I thought the 37 would be the same package in 10MM, but as we all know now the 37 was the 45GAP which hasn't done as well as Glock hoped it would. A Glock size like the 36 in 10MM is unlikely, but it would of sold for them.

I really, really wanted to like the G29 so I could have a 10mm for CC, but that short fat grip just sucks for my hand. Same for the G30. I ended up with a G36. It fits my hand and points naturally for me. A 10mm in a similiar frame would be great, but I'm not holding my breath.

Is a G36 slide thinner that a G30 slide? Would it be possible to do a switch with a G29 slide on a G36 frame?

Much thinner. I think the 36 is about a half inch thinner, but don't have one right in front of me to check. The slides are not compatible at all between the G36 and anything else Glock makes.

you'd think so...but it's been done before. search "g36 g30 hybrid". there was a guy that stuck a g36 slide on g30.

I stand corrected! There is no way I would have thought this would work. Wish I had known that before I traded off my G29SF, would have been interesting.

Sounds like it is worth trying. If I can figure out where my G36 is I will let you know how it works out.

I am guessing that if it does work I could modify G36 mags feed lips.

Apparently the slide and frame would fit....

But, I wonder if G36 frame can take the 10mm ?? We have to remember G30 came out of G29 that was designed around 10mm. (If my memory serves) But seeing as g36 is a frame designed for the .45 ....I'm not sure.

As you suggested the biggest hurdle would be the mag. If only we had a 10mm mag that fits in g36 frame, we can very easily have a 10mm G36.

That would be awesome and some thing to brag about.....

I dug out the G36 and G29 and tried out switching the top ends. It does fit and goes click when you pull the trigger. The external dims. of the G29 slide are much beefier than the G36. The internal dims look, on a visual exam, to be the same. I would have to dig out my calipers and do a lot of checking to be sure.

The extra mass of the G29 slide may absorb enough energy from the 10mm round to keep frame battering down. I don't know for sure though. My guess is it would be ok for a while but I don't think a steady diet of hot stuff would be a good idea. Since I am not a gunsmith or firearms engineer I am not sure I would pursue this past an academic curiosity stage.

At least we know that 36 slide can be used on a g29 frame to shoot .45 now...

Now we need some one to do a 36 frame + 29 slide using 10mm full power torture test....

The GLOCK web site shows the thickness of all their current models.

1.10" for the 36 and 1.27" for the 29/30.

I think I read a post about someone bending the feeding lips of a 45 mag to hold 10mm??? I suppose you could do that to a G36 mag?
