Modifying CTAC holster

I like my CTAC holster, but I want to try to see if I can put a piece of leather backing on it to make it look somewhat like the MTAC without having to actually buy it. I can get the leather, but I am not sure about how I can, or should mount the leather to the holster. Has anybody done any kind of modification like this? I am not wanting to cut up the original holster, but just use existing mounting locations to put the leather backing on it.

If this is not the right forum, can you please move it for me?

Thanks

I would use 8oz leather and attach where the belt clips attach on each side with he 2 screws. That would give a nice back of leather and make it much more comfortable against your skin or shirt. It also lets you switch back to original without modification to holster. You would just need leather and a punch for the holes. An exacto knife works real nice on cutting the leather. Use cardboard to get a pattern made and then transfer and cut your leather. A 12"x12" piece of leather should give you plenty to work with.
