You're not going to get many serious replies to this question. If I find a good Internet source (and I have), the last thing I want to do is plaster their name all over the Internet so that their inventory is wiped out. Sorry but you need to do your own legwork.

He may have a hard time getting ammo shipped if he is in some parts of Chicagoland.

OK, I'll give up a name for this situation. He can drive to Hobart, IN and pick up from Precision Cartridge. I buy their quality reloads with reconditioned brass and Rainier TMJ bullets. $199/1000 for 9mm and $317/1000 for .45acp. There truly is no reason to pay more.
And while we all think we need the latest wonder cartridge for SD, their .45acp JHPs with XTP bullets are truly tempting at $355/1000. When was the last time you were able to practice extensively with your JHP rounds?

Has anyone ordered from LuckyGunner? They advertise on this site and seem to have a lot of ammo in stock. I am thinking of getting some .380 ammo from them because, well they have it in stock. They say they don't advertise it if it is not in stock so I figure it is worth ordering from them.
I was wondering what experiences anyone has had.

Yes, earlier this year ATG was a player. They are currently not earning any of my business. Poor selection and uncompetitive prices.

FOID and ID for most places. Some will settle for just a FOID.

One of the best online is right in front of you. 11 bucks a box for 9MM .. less if you buy 1000 rounds.

These two sites will show you ammo from a bunch of different sites and the price so you can compare in one place instead of looking all over the place.

Really, with pistol ammo so hard to come buy, I have bought from many sources. ATG, as with others, can only sell you what they have. With ATG you can get Ammo the foctory only sells to LE. I just had 2, 50 round boxes of 230 gr 45 ACP HST's delivered today and the price was very resaonable. I have also bought Ranger T's off of them.

Sportsman's Guide is a joke. I've placed multiple orders for various makes of 9mm and every single one becomes backordered and the estimated receive dates keep slipping. I have yet to actually get anything from them. Don't bother joining their buyer's club if all you want is ammo. There are better deals elsewhere.

Don't know about whether it's a joke, but they aren't particularly honest. I just received my membership card today along with two $10 OFF coupons each of which has an expiration date of Jul 31, 2010.
BUT, at http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/club/ClubTour.aspx their website still says:
"Member's Only Offers, Discounts and Coupons! You'll receive special offers throughout the year, plus TWO $10 OFF coupons (NO MINIMUM ORDER, 1 year expiration) right away. That's $20.00 worth of extra savings right off the bat!"
Note the "1 year expiration" above. When questioned about my not getting what I signed up for I was told, in essence, "that's the way it is - tough."
