what defense/protection ammo do you use?

Hey glocktalk so im new to guns for personal protection. I been in the airforce for about 2 years now. So im not really new to guns. I bought my first gun which is a glock of course. The gun is really for my wife because im deploying next week and she will be all by her self. She really likes shooting by the way. She hogs it at the range. lol

right now i got wallmart winchester 9mm PDX1 loaded in the gun, b4 i had those magtech 9mm+p 115g guardian gold. Seem that magtech had a hard time going into the chamber, im not saying that it didnt go in just looked and felt like it.. also got worried that the 115g was too week for the gen4 spring. Although i ended up changed to glockmeister stainless-steel guide rod.

SO the question is what personal protection ammo do you guys use? just super curious thats all hope that i have the right ammo.

Sorry so long and sorry if i repeated a post.
Thanks in advanced for everybody who has anything to say.
Thanks for such a great forum i cant even stop checking for glocktalk updates.

By the way glock19gen4 500 rounds through, mostly cheap federal walmart stuff FLAWLESs. 200 on stock guiderod and 300 on glockmeister guiderod i do get some brass flying at my face once in awhile, i dont know if thats normal.

Personally I like Speer Gold Dot, Rem Golden Saber and Corbon DPX (although dpx is insultingly expensive and not worth it).

Those winchester pdx1 are just fine,if they cycle through your gun with no problems.

Go to YouTube and watch some videos on penetration and expansion. I've come to the conclusion ranger t, HST, and buffalo bore are the best IMO. I carry ranger t when carrying 357 sig and .45acp. Buffalo bore when I carry 10mm

I use the old dan fangled, super duper same as same old full metal jacket 230 gr. rounds, it worked 60 plus years ago and you can bet the human body ain't any harder to penatrait today. YMMV.

I use Hornady Critical Defense ammunition.

It is one of the few designed for personal defense use instead of police use. Police ammo must be able to shoot through auto glass, through walls, etc. Personal defense ammo isn't designed for those needs and focus only on real world justifable CCW shoots. If you try shooting through the wall you probably be charged with a crime. Police may have a legitament need to do so. You don't. Check out their web page.
