ak problem

I have an arsenal sgl21 ak47. While I was shooting it for the first time today it would jam after the first round everytime it would just not feed correctly unless i was manually pulling the bolt back I was using a promag 30 rd. magazine and honestly am not very familiar with this rifle beyond knowing how to load it and shoot it and info would help greatly

Probably the magazine. ProMag makes possibly the worst AK mag on the market. Get any European or Chinese magazine and your problems will likely disappear.

Due to your combination, I would say there is a 99.999999999999999 chance your problem is not the rifle but rather the fact that your magazine was assembled by these guys....

You could also go on one of the dedicated AK boards and buy an original Russian magazine for a reasonable price from their sale sections.

I'm not sure a new AK owner should get into this without knowing more.

AIM is the place a new AK owners can use with confidence.

Apex Gunparts has some good deals on 30 round Yugo and Bulgarian mags, and 20 round Hungarian mags. Personally, I love the 20's. They make the rifle a lot handier and a lot easier to shoot from low prone.

Have you guys been able to load an extra round in your steel mags. I have a couple ten rounders that hold eleven and still seat themselves in the mag well. I haven't charged the weapon with it because I'm not at the range at the moment

Will the Hungarian 20's work OK in a SGL21 without modification?

Most military surplus should fit with few exceptions.
My saiga has the same mag well width as an sgl and I have no problems
with hungarian mags.

Yes. My SGL works with all of my military mags, regardless of country of origin or capacity.
