Oh no, I've gone ChiCom...twice!!!
The other day I picked up a converted MAK-90 and just a few hours ago I picked up an SKS that takes the AK magazine. I've wanted this SKS for the longest and finally found one. Picked up a couple extra 30-rounders and 10-rounders as well. I have tons of 30-round mags in both steel and plastic but they ain't with me right now. So I'll have to order some of the 20-rounders and maybe some more 30-rounders (ChiCom from CDNN Investments).

That SKS appears to be in perfect shape. Congrats.
The Chinese make pretty good weapons.

Was that SKS converted to take AK mags or was it originally made to take them?

It came like that. I don't know if the ChiCom did the conversion in the factory or they made this particular line of SKS that way.

I took some photos of markings and such, so I'll post probably tonight because I'm on the road right now. But what are you looking for?
It marked Made in China NORINCO, and the importer is some name I didn't recognize.

There may be something like a pictograph of two or three numbers in a pyramid shape.
It's the factory's stamp........

If it's not in the photos that I have in my camera right now, then I'll have to look for it when I get back from vacation.

Those SKSs are nice--I especially like the ones rigged to take AK mags and the thumb-hole/pistol grip stock.

That's an aftermarket stock set.
I think that they're still available. I am undecided. I do like the traditional look of the SKS but I also like pistol grip & stock.

Weird.
I've also purchased an AK & an SKS recently...a milled Norinco AK & a Norinco SKS Sporter (that takes AK mags) in the last few months:
