I am staying in Minden on work for the next 6 or so weeks and am interested in places to go shooting both hand guns and rifles any info would be greatly appreciated thanks

There are a couple of places around. Right down the road from you on highway 80, there is an outdoors range that you can shoot short or long guns. I will get the information and post it here for you.
