Ruger takes a lesson from shooters...

http://ruger.com/products/2245Replac...els/index.html

Folks have been doing this mod for awhile, and now Ruger is offering this from the box! :D

This one will probably finally convince me to try a Mk III.

Ruger has paid a bit of attention to how shooters modify their guns.

They have a heavy barrel 10-22. They put scope rails on the Mark III.

Actually, I think that's where Ruger got the idea..... folks have been modifying their molded frames to accept 1911 style grips, like this one:

Depending on which 22/45 you have, I might be willing to work a trade for my MkIII 22/45 Hunter. PM me if you might be interested and yours is a bull barrel pistol.

Lots of MKIII 22/45 shooters over on RFC have modified the molded frames on their Rugers to accept 1911 grips.

I used Ed Brown Stainless-Steel 1911 Grip Screws and Grip Screw Bushings with the Hogue Rubber Finger Groove 1911 Grips.

Other modifications include:

Clark Custom Guns Steel Ruger Trigger
Volquartsen Custom Target Sear
Blast Shield
Hand honed Factory Hammer
HiViz Fiber Optic Front Sight
