OK...Now What?

I traded for a Charles Daly 1911 and its a nice pistol, so heres my problem...I cant get it to feed rounds when I load it. The round hits the barrel at 6 o`clock and stays there, hitting the round across the middle(tring to feed it hollow points). Now I`m no expert but can I polish the feed ramp to fix this? This my first 1911 and I like it but if "this dog wont hunt" I`ll bury it in the back yard and leave my kid a map to go dig it up in 30 years...

Please don't mess with the feed ramp.

Sounds more like a mag issue.

Is it NIB? (Hopefully it's the mag.)

Has your CD been modified? If it is not new, the previous owner may have butchered the feed ramp area.
Need pics of that area.

Does the FTF happen at the same frequency with both mags? Does it feed ball ammo alright. Any idea how many rounds since the recoil spring was changed last.
