Discolored Ammo

I recently bought several boxes of Federal 9bp online. Blue and Grey box.

After examining the ammo I noticed that the brass casings were dull (when compared to my new winchester ammo which was bright and shiny). Also the bullets themselves looked tarnished when compared to some recently purchased Federal 9bple ammo.

Another thing I noticed was that every brass casing had a dark line across the circumference (like a "burn" mark of some kind)

Do you think that this ammo was improperly stored (maybe too much humidity)?

Nothing wrong with the ammo. I have numerous boxes of ammo in different calibers and manufacturers that have tarnished brass as you describe. Some of the ammo was packaged in styrofoam trays and others in plastic trays, so I don't know what may be the cause of it. All I can say is that all the ammo I've shot with discolored brass all fired just fine.
