Wal-mart still has the best price around. Federal 230gr FMJ for $15.98 a box. The only problem is supply. You have to be religious about checking all your local stores. Everybody else I have seen is a couple bucks more.

Natchez Shooters has Blazer 230 gr aluminum case at $16.99/50. This is the same .45 ACP ammo that Widener's is presently selling for $18.50 per box.

If you are looking for real target ammo, never buy WWB. It has to be the worst ammo ever to try and shoot for accuracy. It has extreme velocity spread. Remington bulk is pretty decent.

I believe he meant range ammo.

WWB works fine, as does Blazer Brass.

Quite a few member use it. I do like Remington as well.

You're right, and it's filthy. I'm glad I've never bought WWB.

Someone on another forum shot one box of that stuff and this is the result.

That does look pretty bad, Cobra.

Believe it or not, I haven't found WWB to be overly dirty compared to some other range ammo.

That said, I have had some boxes seemingly worse than others in that regard.

The thing about WWB is that it has such an extreme velocity swings and is loaded so cheaply that it is barely capable of high 3's to 5 inches ( 7 shot groups) in most guns at 25 yards. And that is in a ransom rest. If you add in the human equation the "groups" get pretty big. WWB is not target ammo, and barely range ammo if you are serious about getting an idea where you are at in skill level.

If you are just trigger pulling for the blast and holes (somewhere) on paper then WWB is fine.

Not to put down anyone's favorite range ammo, but now you know why you are getting some of the groups you are getting.

I've been to a public indoor range a few times, and most of the shooters were more focussed on making noise, not accuracy. So I guess for their purpose, WWB is sufficient.

Thats dirtier looking than my g21 after 10 boxes of WWB. I shoot mostly WWB and Reloads, I haven't found many factory target loads that shoot noticably cleaner, for the money this is your best value.

For 9mm, I'll stay with Lawman, Fiocchi, Blazer and Gold Dots.

Second vote for S&B. Usually can find a decent deal in bulk online.

Fiocchi is hot stuff.

Blazer is my primary range fodder.

Due to component shortages, Georgia Arms hasn't had any .45 ACP for months.

I just bought another 500 rounds of Blazer 230 gr. aluminum case cartridges from Natchez Shooters at $16.99 / 50 because I can't find a better deal. I've been backordered for months on ammunition orders with Cabela's and Midway. I'd be happy if someone could point me to a better deal.

$40/100 seems to be the brass cased ammo price. I know I have posted several things on here that refer to this company but seriously they are glocktalk sponsers and have all the ammo you need.
The remanufactured MBI is working really nicely for me right now. Although I mostly shoot reloads I bought some loaded ammo to aquire more brass and I just haven't been in the reloading mood recently.

Allot of guys say Walmart but it seems that non of the Chicago area stores have any ammo at all. Any of you guys live near Chicago or suburbs that is aware of a wal-mart with ammo?
