G29 vs G30 recoil/muzzle flip

I'm about to purchase a Glock 29. Of course none of the local ranges has anything in 10mm to shoot so I tried out the G30. The dealer told me the 10mm was about twice the recoil of the .45, yet all the youtube vids I've seen show that it's not that ba. I'm getting it reguardless and can handle powerful hanguns (I've shot many 44 mags and a 50 DE) but I'm wondering if it is actually twice the .45 for "full power" loas? We train at work (corrections) to shoot twice so it's my natural reaction to double tap and it was easy on the .45.

I have both. It's definitely more than the 30 but not uncomfortable. Especially if you are used to shooting larger caliber guns. If you have to qualify with it. get some low power loads for that and then carry a full power load. Or do you need to qualify with the same load?

I wish we were able to use our own weapon, but no, we train/qualify on the institutions ruger 9's (I hate that gun). I'm just curious about how it shoots in general, especially when you shoot rapidly.

With 10mm full house loads the bad guy will be dead before you touch the second one off LOL

I shoot both and I don't think it's twice the recoil. Like you said it's hard to compare the 10mm depending on the loads you use.

** 10mm= load versatility for every job, no-nonsense penetration power
** 45acp= chance of slightly quicker follow-ups, cheaper ammo, quieter, comfortable

Some people just have more sensitive wrists and prefer the .45 at the range... then drive home in their cadillac and sleep in their sleep number bed.

I would say that typical range ammo might be about 5-10% more recoil than 45acp. With hotter loads like Double Tap, Buffalo Bore, etc... maybe 15-25% more recoil.

Just my observation, recoil is subjective.

It might just be me but the recoil of the 10mm is sort of a flip while the .45 ACP is more of a push.

Mostly.
Neither is bad.
G29 is a girl's gun.

Recoil for both feel somwhat heavy, but I do not notice much more recoil from my G20 than a full-powered .45 ACP. I have not shot a G21, but a 1911 and XD platforms in .45 ACP tend to have a more dull-feeling push. The G20 feels crisper.
