CrimsonTrace and the 4th Gen G21

Anyone have a 4th Gen G21 and have the LG617 Crimson Trace Laser grip 617 on it? Does it fit with all inserts?

Per their web sight no their is no CT grip listed for G20 or G21. Cant use 617 on G21 or G20 with serial number past GXX according to a rep I spoke to last week. Need to get a set of CT for my new G20 serial NHK XXX

Yhere are no Gen4 G21's, only G17's, G22's and soon, in June, G37's.

G21

My bad!!! I actually thought that ALL Glocks were heading to the 4th Gen set-up in 2010. I am getting ready to buy one and heard the Serial # range affected the fit of the CT, like Texas 48 stated. So I guess I'll get the 21 then try to figure out if the CT's will fit based on the SN.

If Glock does come out with a Gen4 G21, the grip will be the same size as a G21SF.

Honestly your best bet is to call CT. From what I heard they have amazing CS!! They'll know better than anyone what exactly you'll need for any gun.

Hmmm, I've wondered how they'll do a gen4 21. So along those same lines the 2nd grip would be a normal 21 and the 3rd would be larger than a 21?? Who would want that?!

The G21SF is as small as Glock can make the grip.

According to the 2010 catalog, CT will be coming out with a laser for the 21sf. Whether or not it will come out in 2010, or whether or not it would fit any Gen 4 21 will be a mystery until it actually comes out. Remember how CT kept saying the 417 would come out in 2009, and it was finally released (but immediately out of stock) in 2010. So it is still really not available. We will have to wait and see.

CT for the Glock 21

This is the reply from Crimson Trace regarding the G21:

We do fit some Glock model 20 & 21’s. In order to determine if we will fit you will need to meet the following criteria:

1. 3rd Generation frame - finger grooves, thumb rests and tactical rails,
2. Serial number starting with one of the following letters: A, B, C, D, E, F, G

If you meet the criteria listed above the Lasergrip that will fit your firearm is the LG-617.

If we can be of further assistance, please call our customer service team at (800) 442-2406 between 7am and 5pm, Pacific Time Zone, Monday through Friday.
Have a wonderful day!

Best regards,

Ashley Dyrdahl

My G21

Well that is the info I certainlly needed but not what I wanted to hear. My new G21 serial # starts with an "N". So I'm SOL on the CT Laser Grips. I just picked the 45 up on Saturday and haven't had the time to call CT yet. When I first wrote this thread I called CT and they said when I get the serial number to call back. You squared me away Holdhard. Thanks very much. BT

Got the same disappointing info on my new G20 with N series serial number. Called CT and they have no plans to produce a CT for G20 or G21. I think they are short sighted about this because of the popularity of G21 and I know that these models out sell many models they produce for other guns. The problem is hole location for the rear pin.
I have CT on my other glocks and they have been very accurate once sighted in and a 100 rounds down the tube.I have resisted LM because of Price but they have NOTA cert and have had endorsments from LEO agencies.
So today I bought a Lasermax. Lasermax had to make a change in their sight also because of a frame change in the G20. I called Glock and they claim there has been no changes to their frames but two reliable aftermarket suppliers say a Change has occured with G20 frames that render their products unreliable in models with frames after the H series. Glock won't admit it but they stonewall, like they did on the problems with the 30sf. Seems like Glock. Has a problem with the truth.

The good and the bad.

The Good: The CT for the G30 went on and performed flawlessly. Easy to get the laser dot over the front sight post with just a few twists on the windage and elevations screws. Performance was excellent and a little fine tuning completed at the range. Very happy.

The Bad: The CT for the G21 also went on very easily but could not get it anywhere near the point-of-aim. Chalked it up to the windage being stuck and would loosen up after a few rounds on the range. Didn't happen. Will have to give a huge THANK YOU to Al Allen of Double Action Shooting Center for having his armorer take a look at the sight, attempt to get it to function and then replaced it out of his inventory!!! Al knows CT will warrantee the bad one but did not have to replace it from his stock. Outstanding customer service.

The Resulting Good: Both CT lasers performed above expectations and are well worth the money spent.

Great story! I have 3 of them and preferred to put the 617 on my new G20 but went with a Lasermax guide rod for it. 300 was a stiff price to pay but Because of aging eyes I don't want to be without a laser. CT is very accurate after it is sighted in and great for SD. I am really disappointed in CT for not having ones for the 20 and 21 newer model.
