Steyr
Do they make a gun that actually works?
I'm speaking of pistols.
My M-40 went back for repair 3 times, still junk, felt like I pulled a bank robbery when I traded a dummy even up on a new G-22 with .357 barrrel.
Honestly do the Styer pistols really work and group well?
There will be no more imported to the States. must be a reason for that.

I have a M40. The only problem I've ever had with it, is the rear sight broke off and hit me in the safety glasses. It runs fine other than that. I even shot some of my first 40S&W reloads in my M40. Nary a hiccup!

I have owned three (my first gun was an m40 and my second an S9 about 7 years ago) and have had excellent track records with all three and routinely carry my S9.
Sorry you got a lemon. Two things I have noticed (but I am sure you already looked into these) is they are very susceptible to limpwristing and need to be lubed well for extended range sessions.
I am kind of shocked the warranty service did not help, I had to send my M9A1 in for doubling straight out of the box but it came back perfect and I had 10k+ rounds through it (it was my main IDPA gun for almost 3 years) when I had to sell it to make bills when my wife was out of work.

S-9, 5 m-9s (in the family), M-40...Plus MANY thousand rds. down range = NO PROBLEMS OF ANY KIND. Except for my not cleaning the extractor on my S-9 until about 8 or 9000 rds....Then perfect after that.
Meanwhile..some friends of mine who shoot only Glocks...mostly 9mm have had multiple chokes of different types during the same IDPA shoots I attend and participate in.
Like FlaChef said...the gun IS susceptible to limpwristing. I disagree with anything but very light lubing with Clenz-oil...but to each his own on that.
I would give up virtually all of my handguns before I let my old "M" series Steyrs go.

Sounds like you either made this up or you're getting the lemons.
I've heard nothing but good things about Steyr...
