Shorter LOP stocks for Remington 870 in 20 gauge?
Who makes stocks with a shorter length of pull for the Remington 870 in the smaller framed 20 gauge?

Speedfeed is the only one that I know of.

Three sources, that I'm aware of.
1. Remington. The 'Youth' stock. It's available from Remington's website.
Part number listed first. Then description. Then price.
#114506 870 STK ASSEM 20 GA EXP YOUTH LAMINATE $84.00
#02326 870 STK ASSEM 20 GA JR. HG GUN WOOD $160.00
#114511 870 STK ASSEM 20 GA JR. EXP LAMINATE $84.00
#400807 870 STK ASSEM 20 GA KNOXX SPEC OPS $160.00
#99134 870 STK ASSEM 20 GA SYN LT REQ. PN. 97022 #65.00
#202278 870 STK ASSEM SYN MC BLACK w/ recoil pad, 13" LOP,no cheek piece(NEEDS 97022 & 94215) $62.00
#97270 870 STK ASSEM 20-28-410 GA EXP BIRCH w/ BUTTPLATE $87.00
Note: The prices listed are from the parts list that I had on my pc. They may have changed.
2. Blackhawk (Knoxx) SpecOps.
3. Speedfeed.
Also, if you want to 'cut' a stock to fit the 20 ga, the Remington 742 and 760 series (7400; 7600, etc.) rifles are the same size.
When I bought my son's 870 Youth gun, the stock was still too long.
I found a mdl 742 buttstock at a gunshow, and cut it to length.

+1, they make a 13" LOP stock, albeit a bit pricey, and I believe it is only sold as a set with the forend (currently out of stock though).

You could always cut down an existing 20 g stock if you wanted to go less than 13".
I believe a 12 g stock will fit with no ill effects with the exception of a slight overhang at the base of the receiver (cosmetic). Then you could go as short as 12" with a Hogue.

Yeah, the Knox stocks are an option I suppose if you like pistol grip buttstocks on a shotgun. I tired a Choate pistol grip buttstock on my other 12 gauge 870 and didn't like it. I felt like it slowed me down and made handling a bit more awkward so I took it off and replaced it with a Remington synthetic conventional buttstock.
Speaking of Remington stocks, I see that they are now selling the express junior compact models that have a stock with a 12" LOP and a spacer system that would allow up to an inch of additional length to be added making it 13 inches. I checked their site and never found if they are selling these stocks separately or how much they would cost if they did. Anybody know if Remington will sell these buttstocks separately, what the part number would be and how much they would cost?
Here's the link to the new express compact shotguns:
http://www.remington.com/products/fi...ss_compact.asp. It looks like the last shotgun they have pictured is the compact Jr. model with the shorter stock. Something like that is what I have in mind for my son.

Look at page 40 of the Parts Listings:
http://www.remington.com/pdfs/rempartslist.pdf
#111709 870 STK ASSEM 20 GA EXP SYN YOUTH NEW E2990MO BREAK UP $84.00
I'm guessing, but, the description says 'new' stock.
Call Remington and ask.
I'd like to get that adjustable stock in synthetic, for my son's 20 ga.

Get thee to a gunsmith. You can have him cut it to fit perfectly and add a recoil pad if you wish.
