How to remove black oxide from slide???

Hi guys, i just bought another Glock :D....its a model 23, its been carried on a daily basis during the past years so it shows ugly holster and mexican carry marks... I would like to remove the black oxide from the slide, without compromising the Tenifer underneath.... the idea is to turn it an even finish again... A matte grey no shine finish would be great...

What are my options for removing the black oxide, id prefer to do it chemically...

Anyone tried before???? Im araid that blue remover or a vinegar solution may damge tenifers antirust capabilities...

can you just buff it out? what about mothers polish? I have seen these slides. It makes an older gun look new again.

ANy experience polishing a slide and letting it just de-blackened??? with a polishing cloth for a dremel or chemically or something???

I think buffing is the only way, buff more where theres more black, it will come out even.

I got the tools... ive done some custom stuff on guns before...stocks and things like that...never touched a glock to refinish it... i made some trigger job and som sight swaps...but nothing to do with finishes... first ill go for the dull grey slide, then il try some stippling :D :D :D but ...that will have to wait for a couple months till i get bored of the slippery **** (my other glock is a RTF2)

have you ever done a chop or frame reduction? like 17-19.
wound how hard that would be?
I have an extra ar grip and I think I will try some stippling on it first.

Maybe a 23 to 27 reduction someday... who knows... its not a big deal just getting some 27 mags and dremeling out a slice of grip...

I think thats about as good as it gets without completely refinishing or buffing till its completely shiny. It looks pretty good to me.

Maybe some duracoat?

Its one of the options available over here... But if removing the black ocide i can get an even gey dull matte surface....ill stick with it.... i think ill try it out with chemicals.... then... to buff it out...and if everything fails...har chrome...
