I have some questions. The old lady has given me permission to get a new rifle, and I want this one:

Are there any interchangeability issues? I would like a TD Battlegrip and replace the handguards/gas block with a lo-pro and rifle length railed forearm.

Any BUIS problems? I read somewhere that as long as both are on a rail, you don't have to buy AR-10 specific fronts, but the 5.56 BUIS obviously aren't calibrated for the 7.62 so the increments per click won't be the same.

Also, anybody NOT using a big freaking scope on their battle rifle? I was thinking Millett DMS, but I know nothing about them, other than the occasional read. I've only owned Aimpoints. I don't want a 'counter-sniper' kind of set-up.

Further, what ammo is kosher. I've read that some ammo isn't with an AR-10, such as the surplus S.A and Portugese. What do I use to plink?

Lastly, collapsible stocks. I know it comes with one, but I was thinking a Crane or MagPul. What are the issues when changing stocks?

I've owned plenty of AR-15's over the years, but never an AR-10. Any help would be appreciated.

Last year I decided I wanted a precision AR-10 so I built this one.



Upper is a factory NM with 20” stainless barrel. Lower is all factory parts. This a very accurate gun with match ammo. I may buy a carbine upper for desert plinking.

So far this gun has been 100% reliable. Armalite has great quality and workmanship. Receivers are forged.

Very nice rifle! I ordered mine Saturday and I am Jonesing for it badly.

Thanks for the info about ARFcom, I'll go check it out.

ETA: I may just stick my Aimpoint on it for the time being until I can research the DMS some more. Anyone have any experience with them? How do they compare usage wise to a red dot? I've never used an adjustable powered scope for anything before.
