Chinese SKS, what are they worth these days.

So, I know that gun prices are a moving target these days, but I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on the value of Chinese SKS's.

I ask because I am thinking of buying one to eventually give my youngest brother when he comes to live with me for a while between semesters. I've already got a Russian SKS, it was my first gun ever in fact (which is the main reason I'm not giving that one away).

So anyway, given that the wood looks good, the rifle appears in good condition and free of corrosion etc, what might be a decent price these days?

I just realized that sounds like I am talking about a specific rifle, I'm not, its just that I see several local Chinese SKS's for sale, no Russians, and I'm pretty sure I don't want the Yugoslavian SKS's for sale.

Any thoughts on what you see as a good price, prices you've seen in your area ( and what your area is) would be a appreciated.

I was curious because recently I saw a few for sale in the 200-220 range. I went ahead and bought them when they looked good enough. Seems like they were good deals.

SKSs of all models have skyrocketed since a year ago. The Yugos are now dry and so no more imported . A year or two like this, and all will go higher as expected. The Chinese SKS with its chrome lined barrel is valued higher now than ever .

I have two that I bought years ago and spent an amount that I will not mention here. One did not have a bayonet but the dealer threw in a 'tent spike' that just happened to fit in the grove in the forearm. Needless to say they have grown in value if I ever decide to move them.
