Big dot install on j frame

Anyone out there that has any info on what it takes to install a Big dot on a non pinned j frame s&w? I have looked all over the place and have not found anything. I figure the sight may need to be milled down and drilled for a roll pin to hold the big dot on?

My next step is to call XS sights and see what they say.

Any opinions or thoughts would be helpfull.

Yes! I looked into this as well, got sidetracked, and haven't done it yet

I did get an email back from support. It wasn't that difficult, but having the right drill press, the right drill size, and the right pin is pretty much the deal.

Drill half way from one side halfway through the sight blade, flip the pistol over and repeat till you go all the way through... then pin it in place.

Let me know if they tell you something different!

And don't forget to show off your work!

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if XS sights provide the roll pin? and give instructions as to what drill bit size etc....I was just going to purchase the sight and go from there. I figure it can't be to envolved.

On a side note. Good to see your a GOA member. There is many different organizations out there that do what they can for our 2nd amendment rights....GOA is one of them, along with 2nd amendment foundation, The firearms coalition etc.....
