G2 Contender 10mm

Anyone here shooting one of these bad boys? I found a new barrel in 10mm for my G2 and was considering buying it and was wondering how the 10mm does out of a 10" to 12" barrel.

If you already have a 10mm and are set up to reload then a contender barrel to play with could be very fun. If you don't have 10mm already then might aswell pick another caliber. The way I see the only thing that sets 10mm apart is its chambered in semi auto's. If your not shooting a semi why not get 41 mag, 44 mag,45 LC or a whole bunch of rifle calibers available for the contender?

Well I have a G2, five 10mm hand guns, and reload for the 10mm, 357, 44, and a couple rifle's. My queston was more about accuracy and not so much what it's good for, but didn't express it well form looking at my question.

The thing I was wondering is accuracy compared to 357 or 44 at 50 to 100 yards.

Also I found the barrel new for $220, and was thinking of buying it to play with. I was just wondering how it would do compared to my 357 or 44 when punching paper not hunting pig or bear.

I've got three 10mm barrels for my Contender now. A 6.5", 10", and 14". Once the weather warms up I hope to chrono a variety of loads in all three barrel lengths.

So were did you get your barrels from? This was just a local gun shop find and I was caught off guard because I didn't know anyone made a 10mm barrel.

RS, since it's in your title and mentioned in a couple of your posts I have to ask, what the heck is a "G2"?

The G2 is an updated Contender. It's stronger and you can recock the hammer without breaking open the action. There may be a couple other improvements too, but those are the main ones I remember.

I picked up the 10" from Fox Outfitters years ago. The 6.5" barrel I got off Gunbroker a couple months ago. I also just purchased the 14" through Gunbroker, but I'm still waiting on the longer, 2-screw forend so I haven't shot it yet.
