OK. First off let me say thank you for any information I receive from this thread.
Now to business.

My wife owns a PLR 16. Neat little pistol. The problem is that when shooting, it becomes REAL easy to get your hand close to the working end of the muzzle.
I know that if one puts a vertical fore grip on the PLR it becomes an AOW.

My question is, if one puts the new Mag Pul HFG (Horizontal Fore Grip) on a PLR, does it become an AOW?

Now the next question,
What would the process be to make sure the PLR would be legal if I purchased the "AR stock/pistol grip" kit from Kel Tec and wanted to create a light weight SBR?

To the first question, there has not been a ruling on the Magpul AFG with regard to whether it counts as a forward grip for AOW purposes. It'd be best to avoid it until there is such a ruling.

If you want to SBR your PLR, first you'd submit a proper Form 1. When it is returned approved, you may only then obtain the parts and change the configuration of the item.
