I bought a Glock 23 and shot it for the first time the other day and noticed that all of the brass came out slightly dented at the rim. I have read posts that say nothing to worry about, but I thought I would run it up the flag pole. Here is a pic, sorry abt quality, it is a cell pic. I think it is where the brass is hot coming out and when it hits the ramp, it is folding it. I was using Federal 180g FN bullets. No failures to eject.

For some pistols this is normal. Not all do it. My bet is that as your recoil spring breaks in, some or most of the dent will go away.

Thanks for the reply. The gun is well used, so I am sure the spring is broken in, but I guess until I have ejection probs, I will not worry about it. Maybe it needs a new recoil spring? I am curious.

My G23 does the very same thing and has for several thousand rounds. No worries. I reload as well and a resizing die brings everything back into perspective with no probs. I reshoot brass many times if that makes you feel any better.

Just for reference, I replaced my recoil spring and it cured it 99.9%. Still get a slight brush, but no deformation. I am also shooting the 180gr FMJ.
