Birth of US Navy

I just stumbled on this, and didn't see anything about it in GT with a quick search.

Turns out that today, March 27, is essentially the birthday of the United States Navy. Happy Birthday!

Interesting. We celebrate it on October 13, though, the date when the Continental Navy was established.
