Double Tap .380 ammo

I am trying to find good personal defense ammo for my new Ruger LCP .380. I e-mailed Mike McNett with Double Tap in order to find out what bullet he loads in his .380 95 grain Controlled Expansion ammo and got this answer-"That bullet is made exclusively for us by Nosler." Has anyone had any experience with that ammo in their .380 pocket pistol?

Try buffalobore 380. I have shot their 90 grain golddot +P..I know ruger says no +P. Those loads chronographed out of my ruger LCP at 1129 fps!!!! I am not too kean on DT ammo...read some of the posts on DT here.

Anyway that 380 load is what i carry in my ruger LCP

Shot a few of them into really wet newspapers. No pics but they looked good. I got home and put them on my scale to see how much they retained....66.6 grains...hmmm evil bullets?!?!?

Hope this helps

Jason

I have several boxes of DT .380 90gr Gold Dots and they shoot great.

I know how delicate .380ACP pocket pistols are even under normal conditions, having once owned one.

Why take a chance that over-pressure rounds might cause a malfunction during a critical encounter, especially since the manufacturer warns against shooting +P ammo?

or buy a gun that actually encourages you to use the hotter .380 rounds.

I too am looking for a good LCP round. I have been leaning toward the DT. Just looking for more suggestions. I do not want to run +P ammo in this LCP!

look at buffalo bore non +P 380. I am sold on BB really great ammo. I have used double tap in the past but over my chronograph I was not getting anywhere near velocity that they say. Just dont like their hype!!
