G23 slide not moving completely forward

Since purchasing a 27 my 23 has been resigned to the safe. I pulled it out the other day to clean it and noticed it does not appear to be completely in battery. The only readily visible key to this is the small square tab on the back of the frame is recessed in about 1/16 - 1/8 of an inch from the armorer's plate (chambered or not). I have gone through over and over trying to ensure all is assembled correctly and find nothing wrong. It is driving me crazy as I don't remember it ever being this way before. My 27 sits flush in the back. Thoughts?

Sounds normal to me. Take it out and shoot it some.
