I was bored...

... so I took a Dremel and polished my Glock's barrel.

Just kidding. I did something a little less destructive.

A few days ago I joined the reloading crowd by buying the entry-level RCBS Partner kit ($170 at the local Bass Pro). My bullets won't arrive for a few more days, so I decided to improve the lighting at my new reloading bench.

I took a cheap LED flashlight ($3.99 a pair from Harbor Freight).

Reloading

Then I went through my pile of trash and found an old charger for a Nokia phone:

Then I butchered the light, took the lamp assembly out and connected it to the charger:

Reloading

A strip of steel from an old windshield wiper made a good lamp post...

Reloading

And now my old eyes can perfectly see what I'm doing:

You weren't lying when you said you were bored!

Great idea. Now you can really be sure of the powder level. I am not as slick as you, i just taped an LED flashlight to my 550.

Ya but would a Home Depot light turn green press blue? At first I thought it was a Dillon SS.

Just primed a few cases with my new contraption... You can laugh all you want, but the setup works great. You can look right into the case if you need to (here is a 38SPL, which is twice as deep as the 9mm I'm loading):

Reloading

Would a Home Depot light work? Probably so. Would it shine exactly where I need it without occupying any desk space and being in the way? Probably not. Would it be as much fun as making something with your own hands? Not a chance.

Hell, we're not laughing at you... the rest of the guys are jealous that they can't make one... I had the butler make mine.

I like it, might even scrounge the garage for a few parts myself later.

Yesterday the wind was blowing about 40 MPH so I stayed inside and loaded a 1000 rounds.
