Compared to the Swiss made RWS ammo, Federal and Winchester stuff is "crapp". If it's too expensive for you then don't buy it.

Wal mart introduced that brand about the beginning of 2010, sort of an intermediate round, Federal replaced Blazer and should be on your shelf as well as winchester, my local store has all three brands, I buy the Federal when in stock, I guess your store had no federal left is all. check back soon.

I saw that for the first time today too (I only check Walmart maybe once a month).

$16.97?? You gotta be kidding.

Don't worry, we won't.

Crap? It fires every time. Good enough for me.

I was totally happy with Blazer and am still plenty happy with federal. No need to pay that much money for some range/ plinking ammo.

RWS is the only thing my local Wal-Mart has had in the past two months. I won't pay almost double for range ammo. For the past eight months there hasn't been any WWB value packs and I've never seen any Federal or Blazer 9mm ammo there. Never.

It lools like that price tag is for remington umc .38 special ammo, the boxes appear to have been in the wrong spot

My local Walmart is also charging $16.97 per box, and it is not in the wrong spot there.

Economics 101.

Don't purchase it.

Sales plummet.

Sought for profit margin is not achieved by manufacturer.

Manufacturer seeks price point where purchases re-occur.

This tends to be much lower than the original price.

Bottom line? As long as people purchase the ammunition at the increased prices, there is no incentive for them to lower those prices.

Capitalism at it's finest.

My local Wal-mart sells out of Federal within 24 hours of getting a shipment. The RWS hasn't been touched in two months. I don't see this being a Wal-mart product for long.

At $16.97 it sits and sits. Been tons of 9mm hitting the shelves at the Walmarts here in the last two days...stopped by one Walmart this afternoon and they had about 20 WWB 100 round boxes ($23.97), some WWB 50-round boxes, some UMC, and stacks upon stacks of Federal Champion ($9.97). Even found some WWB and Champion .45. I haven't seen the cases that full in as long as I can remember.

Federal IS Blazer.

I compared both boxes and ammo, and they are identical, except for the ink on the box.

Same plant made both, they just use a different ink on the box saying federal
