"+3 870 Extension"

A member here of GT, Max100, made a post back in November 09, that he makes and sells +3 ext tubes for the 870 shotgun.

I sent him a few e-mails and a few PM's, and I finally got in touch with him. Here it is, my new +3 ext tube. I really like it. Now I have a 7+1 870.

It is with in a "hairs width" of being identical in length to the factory tube, only with no "crimp" in it.

I have noticed no change at all with accuracy of slugs. The slugs I use are Winchester Partition Gold 2 3/4" 385 grain sabot slugs.

Could you measure it for us? I'm also wondering if your barrel is an 18" or 18.5" if you know. Is it 7+1 with 3" shells or only with the 2.75" shells?

My +3 extension is 6.75" long same as the factory +2 extension. His barrel length is 18.125". It's an older barrel because with the newer 18.5" barrels the factory +2 ext and my +3 ext would be even with the muzzle.

All tube extension capacities are made for 2.75" shells. With 3" shells you will get one less round capacity.

Noted. I will certainly be interested in one. Just not this second.

Could we get a picture of the follower?

Does he make +1's and +2's also? Does he make 20 guage mag tubes? Does he make them for Mossy's? Sorry to ask so many questions, it's really nice looking and the perfect finish for all my shotty's.

Glockdude1 do you have calipers where you could measure the diameter of this thing?

im still interested in it but i havent heard back from Max on the outside diameter of it.

the clamp i use might not tolerate a much thicker tube than the stock rem tube.

I have no calipers, but by using a tape measure, it comes out to roughly 3 1/4" in diameter.

i hope thats circumference? all the way around?

its pretty hard to measure the diameter of a round object with a tape but it should be about 1" across if you cut it in half etc...

just tell me this:
if you put it nose to nose with your stock rem extension is it pretty damn close to being the same size? a little bigger or little smaller?

thanks VERY much for takin the time to measure it and respond. i appreciate it.

Yes, circumference of the tube. I measured both tubes using my tape measure, they come out the same. 3 1/4"

awesome. i didnt even think to ask you to measure the circumference of the rem tube lol.

honestly if youre measuring with a tape the circumference is better to compare since its a longer distance. comparing the two. in other words differences in circumference correlate to smaller differences in diameter.

so if both are right at 3.25" circumference ill probably be good with my clamp.

thanks again man.

Post a pic or 2 of your shotgun when you are done with it.

MAX100:

Im trying to get an update on my mag tube. I gunpal'ed you the money 4-30-10 and you said 'about 4 weeks'...

Ive emailed you daily for almost a week and I have yet to receive a reply in my inbox. Ive been checking my junk box etc just in case and see nothing. We are now in the 8th week.

Naturally I would like some information and it is admittedly frustrating to not be able to get any. I have also been calling the number listed as associated with your FFL 'Gun Connection' but nobody ever answers.

I understand that communication may not be instant if this is not a full time job for you and I think that I am quite patient with people on the internet.

I also note from your user page here that I am not the only person wanting to know about a longer than expected order time, and lack of return communication.

Please let us know about our orders.

Thanks

Edit: Im not posting this here to smear you. Im posting this here because Im not sure at this point how to get an answer. If Im not going to get an answer though I dont think its unreasonable for people to know about the difficulties that people may be having.

I have emailed you in the last week at least 10 times. Check your junk email box. I have said that I have received more orders than expected because of increased gun sales. I also run a firearms business during the day. Most custom shops are booked up to the max and it's taking longer than expected to get orders out on time. A customer told me yesterday he ordered a custom 1991 last year and it was only suppose to to take 4 months. It's going on a year now.

I will be refunding your money today. You can order at later date if you decide to. Sorry!

I have turned off the PM at all of the forums I am member at because I can't keep up with all the emails I get plus the PMs at forums. It's very time consuming to answer PMs at forums.

Well I dont have anything in my junk box but I will take you at your word. I really didnt expect a refund and dont mind waiting for the product... I just wanted an update.

If you think that the production is delayed indefinately and prefer to send me a refund ok... but Ill leave my order in if you think youll get them produced.
