I was looking at getting one of these and was wondering which you guys would choose or if anyone has any experience w/ either or both.

I don't have experience with the CAA one but their stuff tends to be good quality. I have used the original Grip Pod and it is tough and lightweight. They are pricey ($125-$150 usually) but are stronger and have metal bracing of the legs. Avoid the Chinese copies (these are ususally in the $30-$50 range) as they are very fragile. I have seen more than one break while deploying the legs, or the legs just shoot out of the grip. Good luck!
