Shotgun gurus, a question.
Of all the 12 Ga shotguns out there right now, which one has the least felt recoil?
Pump, semi, whatever. Please, personal experience only. Thanks.

In my completely unscientific tests- the Remington 1100, with the FN SLP a close second.

Too many variables to really answer this question correctly.
You have to take into account the ammo, recoil pads and anything else that differs one firearm from the other. I usually don't notice recoil differences.

I am still relatively young and healthy so I have not developed a "recoil DIVA" sensitivity yet.
My Benelli SNT does have the built in comfort tech system and my Mossberg 930SPX is a gas piston system with a recoil buffer in the stock so it soaks up alot of recoil.
Ad in reduced recoil defensive ammo and recoil get even softer. Birdshot is never a problem on my guns, even my semi auto.

Use the same ammo in these different shotguns to make the comparison. Whatever the shotguns come with from the factory is what you go with.

Gas operated semi automatic shotguns will have less felt recoil then fixed breech shotguns of equal weight and the same recoil pad.

Out of the all the 12 Gauge shotguns that I own and have shot I've notice the least amount of recoil in my Mossberg 500 pump action. The longer barrel and recoil pad is probably the most likely cause for that. Sorry I'm not very helpful, lol.

The heaviest one. Was the question strictly necessary?

The Benelli Vinci is suppose to be rather nifty.

If felt recoil is an issue, buy an ordinary Winchester Defender (1300) and put Aguila mini shells in it.
Done, and you gain a couple extra rounds. Don't try it with other shotguns unless you have a gunsmith buddy to tweak it.

Haven't played around with semi-autos much, but for pump shotguns I'd say the Mossberg 835. I bought a 20" turkey model with a ventilated recoil pad, over-bored barrel, and ported choke. I can easily shoot twice as much buckshot than with the 500 I used to have.

been a cop 34+ years, shot a whole host of shotguns over the years, I prefer the Remington 1187 for duty.
