School me on 9mm 1911 magazines
I have a 9mm Kimber Stainless Pro Carry II with aluminum frame on the way. I'm told it only comes with one magazine (that's cheap in my opinion), so I'll need to get a couple more. I'd prefer stainless magazines, but that's not a must have. For those who have 1911 9mm's, which magazines have you found to be most reliable?

I use Wilson ETM's (10rds) and Springfield/Metalform (9rds) mags. no problems with either. both are stainless.

I've used some borrowed Tripp Research magazines and some of my own and all have worked flawlessly in my STI Trojan in 9mm.

whatever you get, first remove your slide and insert a loaded mag. and make sure it isn't going to cream your ejector like mine did in my kimber(that I don't own anymore) with anything but kimber mags. good luck

I have a Kimber Pro Aegis and the Check Mate mags work great in it.
I got mine from http://www.topgunsupply.com/1911-magazines/
Great service and decent prices.

Tripp makes the best 9mm mags in my opinion. I have 4 of them, and will only buy that brand for 9mm 1911s

I have some of the 10 rd. Tripp mags and for a few thousand rounds they have worked flawlessly. That is what I will purchase when I get some more to add to the collection. And the are used in a Springfield if that makes any difference.

What about the followers? I've heard that metal followers can damage aluminum frames.

The follower shouldn't be contacting any part of the frame.

The Check-Mate mags have the type of follower that cannot move forward to ding the frame.

Not a problem, because the Pro Carry has a ramped barrel. I have a 9mm Target II and had a 9mm Pro Carry. I have used Wilson, Metalform, and the factory Kimber mags. All of them have worked just fine.

I have 6 Tripp 10 round 9mm magazines and all have been flawless in my Kimber. I have also used the Springfield/Metalform magazines with no "issues" but when I buy more magazines it will be from Tripp.

I'm a dinosaur. I got 10 Colt mags in 9MM and 10 in 38 Super and run them in my 9 MM 1911. No issues after several years.

Do you have any issues with the .38 Super magazines in your 9x19mm 1911 pistol?
I use Wilson Combat ETM 10-rd magazines in my stainless 9x19mm Springfield 1911A1 Loaded.

It seems to run pretty well with them. I use 124/125 gr RN bullets. I might see an issue if I were shooting the short 90 grain screamers.
