Old Aimpoint

Howdy;
I have an AR, mainly for range use, plinking, that sort of thing. Maybe at some point down the road I will do 3-gun matches. I have the opportunity to get an old Aimpoint Mark III, circa early/mid 80s. You may have been around those in the Corps back in the day. Anyway, the price is right. Is this a decent sight for my use? Essentially I do not want to spend a lot of money on a good sight because, frankly, I don't need one for what I do. Thanks and SF.

Those aimpoints run forever and their customer service is great as well If the price suits you it will do the job no problem.
