Magazine question

I have a G27 and a couple of G30s. On the older G30, the magazines have a rectangle cutout in the front which has metal showing. On my later 30sf, to include some additional recently purchased OEM mags, the cutout is not there. On my G27, and some recently purchased OEM mags, they all seem to have the cutout. Can you tell me what the difference and purpose is, and why some have and some haven't? I don't know if this applies to any of the other Glocks, but on my G23, none of the mags has the cutout. Thanks, Ed

The cut out will support an ambi mag release.
If your Glock does not have an ambi release..... the cut out does not matter to you.
