Just picked up my new SA milspec!

I like it so far. It's a parked version. I am charging the battery for my camera right now, pics soon.

What kind of lube do you guys use on your SA 1911's? I use machine gunners lube on my CBOB, what works well for a Springfield? Will CLP work fine? There is some sort of lube or preservative on the gun right now, not sure what it is.

I use BF CLP on all of my handguns. No issues with wear or corrosion, but have to admit the environment they live in is pretty benign. My feeling is that if the stuff is good enough for our warriors, its good enough for me.

Congrats on the Mil spec I look forward to seeing the pics.

I've been using this oil lately and it seems to work well.

Been using BreakFree CLP in my SA since about 1990 (actually exclusively in all my firearms). If it isn't broken, I don't fix it

Congrats on a great pistol!

It's just a bad cell phone pic but it will have to do for now.

Congrats on your Mil-Spec. I've got one just like it at the moment. Had two at one point recently.

The one I have I've built up quite a bit, they're a great starting point for some customization if you choose to do so. Otherwise, they're pretty good as is.

In terms of lube, mine have run fine on CLP. No issues at all.

Enjoy.

You're going to love that Mil-spec! Right now I use Mil-tec but wouldn't hesitate to use CLP if I had any.
